An Exciting New Release - Submission Dance by Lori King

First of all thank you so much Jan for having me back to your blog to share my new book. Submission Dance is the second story in the Fetish & Fantasy Series, which is my first step into self-publishing. I’ve been a traditionally published author for two years, publishing with both Siren-Bookstrand, and JK Publishing. While I am forever grateful to both companies for what they’ve taught me, I found myself wanting to try self-publishing because of the direct path from Author to Reader. Alright, I’ll admit that the complete control over selecting a cover, writing a blurb, formatting, and selecting my release date are big pluses, but I don’t want anyone to mistake that for self-publishing being easier. If you want easy sign on with a publisher, because they will help walk you through all of the tough decisions, and be there to back you if something goes wrong.

Ultimately though, when I finished the first story in the Fetish & Fantasy Series, Watching Sin, I knew that it wasn’t a good fit for either of the two publishers I work with, and I decided that it was the perfect opportunity to test the self-publishing waters. I’m glad I did, but I didn’t get through it unscathed. It took nearly 6 hours for me to figure out how to get my book uploaded on all the various sites, and even then several sites didn’t get the book live for a couple of weeks. I’m glad I’ve done it, and never-minding the learning curve, I know that there will be more self-published works in my future. Besides Watching Sin, and Submission Dance, I’ve almost finished the third book in the series, Mistress Hedonism, which I hope to release in the next couple of months.

Today, I hope you’ll take a look at Submission Dance, which is the story of one woman’s search for answers in the world of BDSM, and the Dominant who wants to teach her…

Submission Dance - A Fetish & Fantasy Novella byLori King

Blurb:

Marley Saltzman has a secret fantasy. She wants to let go of everything, and submit to a Dominant. Intrigued by her friends BDSM lifestyle, she convinces him to put her on the guest list for his monthly fetish party. She had no idea how far out of her element she would be until she came face to face with an experienced Dom.
Lex Gregory has been nursing heartache and raising his daughter alone for so long he barely remembers what a submissive feels like at his feet. When he meets Marley, he can’t believe that the na├»ve woman ever thought she could handle kink. All too quickly his need for her refreshing innocence and lack of preconceived notions grows, and he has to have her.
The two began a subtle dance of sexual submission and wit that leads to a night of passion and unanswered questions. Will this dance end in heartache, or will they both find their darkest fantasies fulfilled?
Warning: Adult Themes-For Mature Audiences. Contains language and actions some may deem offensive. Sexually explicit content. M/F, graphic language, consensual BDSM, spanking, public sex, HEA.

Excerpt:

“Would you like to dance, Marley?” Lex asked, rising from the low slung chair. The height of her own seat put her face almost dead even with his crotch, and there was a distinct bulge under his zipper that she found very intriguing, but he didn’t seem to notice her predicament.
“I’m really not much of a dancer…” She stammered for an excuse not to get closer to him. He was too magnetic and charming for her. She was almost afraid that if she let him pull her onto the sparsely populated dance floor, she would turn into putty in his hands, and never find herself again.
“The music is slow, and I know what I’m doing. Trust me to lead, and you’ll be fine.” She wasn’t sure if he intended the double meaning behind his words or not, but her clit certainly heard it.
Holding out his hand, he waited for her to lay her palm against his and then he tugged her to her feet. She swayed slightly, and he steadied her with a hand on her lower back just above the curve of her ass. Immediately, she had to fight the urge to press herself against his long muscular body. Certainly he already thought her an easy mark after that steaming kiss; rubbing against him like a cat in heat wouldn’t help her circumstance.
He led her onto the dance floor without another word, and before she could turn to face him, he spun her around once, and then twice, so that her balance was off and she fell into him.
With an arrogant grin on his face, he wrapped his arms around her back, and steadied them on the curve of her spine, but within proper distance from her ass. “Better, now just relax and let me guide you.  That’s right, sway with me. Dancing is like making love. It’s sensual, and there’s an exchange of power between every couple. You trust me to lead you in the right movements, and I trust you to follow me, but at any point you can walk away.” His hot breath whispered over her ear from above, and her cheek brushed the smooth silk of his shirt. “You have all the control, Marley.”
Lex continued to murmur instructions to her, softly seducing her with his body and his innuendos. Her breasts grew heavy and achy, and her nipples were diamond hard points that she knew were probably poking through the thin material covering them. She tipped her head back to look up into his deep blue eyes, and her knees grew weak at the intense lust burning there.
“Careful. If you slip I get to carry you off and say I swept you off your feet. That would make you my rightful prize to do with as I pleased for the night,” he whispered.
Marley snorted out a laugh, “Is that a party rule?”
“No, but everyone knows the black knight steals away the princess at her first ball and seduces her.”

New Release Sneaky Peek - In Your Corner by Sarah Castille (@sarah_castille)

BLURB:

"You have to go. I won't be able to control myself. I've wanted you so bad for so long and after I've been in the cage...I can't think straight." He gives a guttural groan and his fist clenches on my hip.

Primitive. Primal. His need speaks to me. I tighten my grip on his neck and rock up to kiss him. He takes over. His kiss is hard and demanding.

"Mine." His voice is raw, savage and for a moment I truly believe he may lose control.

He rules in the ring

Two years ago, Jake and Amanda were going hot and heavy. But when Jake wanted more, Amanda walked away. Jake immersed himself in mixed martial arts, living life on the edge. But that didn't dull the pain of Amanda's rejection-until a chance encounter throws them together.

A high-powered lawyer, Amanda was a no-strings-attached kind of girl. But two years after her breakup with Jake, she still hasn't found anyone who gets her heart pumping the way he did. And then he shows up in her boardroom, hot as sin and needing help...

But can he rule her heart?

Jake is darker, sexier, and impossible to resist. As their chemistry builds, Amanda's not sure if she can stay in control, or if she's finally willing to let him claim her body and soul.

Excerpt: In Your Corner

“Don’t move.”

Totally immersed in painting the cupboard, I freeze mid–paint stroke at the sound of Jake’s deep voice behind me.

“What? Am I doing something wrong?”

He closes the distance between us and runs his finger along the back waistband of my gym pants, sending delicious tingles up my spine. Then he slides his hands around my waist, bared by the rise of my T-shirt as I stretch to reach the top of the cupboard with my paintbrush.

“Yes. You look too damn sexy. Do you know what it does to a man when he catches a glimpse of something he isn’t meant to see?”

“I hope it makes him tell the woman she can call off the panic attack and drop her arm,” I mutter as I do just that. “I also hope it makes him decide his hands might be of better use somewhere other than around her waist.”

Jake slides his fingers around to my stomach, resting them just over my mound and his voice drops to a low growl. “I could make use of them here.”

“So says the man who turned down a good offer just the other night at Redemption.” I remove his hands and turn to face him, putting on a brave face while inside I seethe. Who does he think he is coming on to me after brushing me off?

“No games, Jake. You made your position clear. I got that. I’m not interested in being screwed around.”

He presses his hands against the cupboard on either side of my head, caging me with his body. “What are you interested in?”

“Moving on,” I say honestly.

His pulse throbs in his neck and his eyes harden. “With whom?”

“No one right now.”

He gives a satisfied grunt as if I had just cleared up a question in his mind. “Everyone is out back having a good time. You should be there too.”

“There’s a lot of work to do. I want to get it done. The faster I open shop, the faster I can start my lawsuit against Farnsworth.” I slip under his arm and edge along the counter.

“You’ve been working since six o’clock this morning.”

Grabbing a clean cloth from the counter, I make an effort to wipe the grease off my face. “I’m used to working twenty-hour days. I’m not afraid of hard work.” But I am afraid of mercurial fighters who run hot one minute and cold the next.

His face softens, and he takes the cloth from my hand and holds it under the tap. The pipes gurgle when he turns the rusty faucet and water gushes out, skimming over the cloth and trickling into the sink below. Without warning, he lifts me and settles me on the counter.

“You don’t have to work like that anymore.” His voice is calm, soothing. I am momentarily lulled out of work mode and into heat mode as he eases his hips between my legs and reaches to turn off the faucet. “It’s Saturday night. Time to relax and have fun.” With a firm hand, he cups my jaw and then wipes the cloth gently over my nose, forehead, and cheeks.

His gentle touch, the warmth of his hand, his breath, minty and sweet, and his hard body nestled between my thighs all converge in an unbearable rush of sensation. I grab his wrist, forcing his hand away.

“Jake…I’m good. Really. There’s so much to do. I’ll come out when I’m done and I’ve cleaned myself up.”

“I like you this way,” he murmurs. “You look…cute. Real.”

“Real?”

He brushes his thumb over my cheek. “Amanda without the armor. Your clothes, hair, makeup…nothing is perfect. It’s just the real you. I never got to see the real you before.”

Torn between being mortified and pleased, I reach for another cloth. “Real Amanda is covered in dirt and has holes in her sweats.”

He traces a finger down my throat to rest in the hollow at the base of my neck. The room heats to one hundred degrees, and if I’m not mistaken, I hear the sound of my blood boiling.

“I like holes in sweats.” His voice drops, husky and low, and his finger continues its downward journey into the vee of my shirt.

“Jake…”

He traces lightly over the crescent of my breast. “I like dirty girls,” he whispers, his voice thick with desire. “I can’t stay away.”

Oh God. Every bit of warmth rushes to my center as his deep, sensual voice ignites one of my dark fantasies. Jake, straddling my bound body, growling commands, telling me what he’s going to do to me in the filthiest language I know. A soft moan escapes my lips and we’re back on the roller coaster again.

“This game you’re playing confuses me.” His heart beats strong against my palm when I lay my hand over his chest.

“Me too.”

“Then what are you doing?”

His eyes take on a feral gleam and my breasts tingle.

“Playing dirty,” he growls. Tangling his hand in my hair, he tugs my head back, exposing my throat to the heated slide of his lips. “Sometimes you have to stop thinking too much and just go with it.”

My breath comes in short pants as he sucks gently on the pulse at the base of my throat. Barely able to form a coherent thought for the pounding of blood in my temples, I scramble for sanity. “There’s too much between us to just go with it. We need to talk…”

His hand closes in my hair, twisting roughly. “Lawyers talk. You don’t look like a lawyer now. You look fucking sexy, and your mouth is all lush and pink and needing to be kissed. You want to talk, Amanda, or you want that kiss?” He nips the hollow at the base of my neck.

Pleasure and pain meld together and I whimper as a heated rush of sensation floods my veins. “Kiss.”

Jake smiles. “My dirty girl wants a dirty kiss.” Holding my face, he slants his mouth over mine and kisses me.

Soft kiss. Sweet kiss. Warm, firm lips tasting faintly of coffee. His five o’clock shadow brushes my chin as his tongue eases my lips open to stroke against mine. My body melts against him as he explores my mouth, leaving nothing untouched. Tongues wind and tangle. Two years of fantasies coalesce in a single rasping breath.

“’S not so dirty,” I mumble against his lips.

“Oh, you don’t know how dirty I can be.” Jake grips my hair and tugs my head back with a firm, hard yank, sending little bolts of lightning straight to my core. Then he kisses me hard and fast. Rough. His teeth scrape my bottom lip as his tongue dives deep, filling me, taking what I have to give and demanding more. The pounding of my heart shifts from lust to fear as he consumes me, and for a moment I worry he has forgotten I need to breathe.

When he breaks the kiss, I draw in a long, ragged breath. “You never kissed me like that before.”

“You were never like this before,” he murmurs, his fingers easing up my shirt, his thumb tracing over the crescent of my breasts. “Raw and open, vulnerable, needing my help. So fucking real.”

My breath catches in my throat as he explores, cupping and squeezing my breasts and then teasing my nipples through my lace bra until they are tight, aching peaks.

“My clothes. Take them off.”

Author Hot Seat Welcomes - Toni Sands

The author hot seat specials are designed to help readers get to know both popular, and up and coming authors, a little better. The questions are broken into sections - About your writing, about you, fun stuff and finally. Some of the questions are easy, other may need a little more thought and some may cause our author friends to hesitate before answering—still, they all answer.

Today in the hot seat we have Toni Sands. Toni is currently on tour for her latest release, Knight and Trask: Secrets and Spies. Welcome to the hot seat Toni, I can't wait to hear more about you.

About Your Writing:

Tell us about your latest book. What was your inspiration for writing it, is it part of an ongoing series, the characters, the genre etc?

Knight and Trask: Secrets and Spies is set in the late 1990s and inspired by the James Bond movies of that era. Except! Katie Knight is not your typical bikini-clad Bond girl. She’s Agent Trask’s equal. I loved writing their banter as well as their steamy scenes. If the book does well, I’d love to write a sequel.

How many books have you written during your career so far and which is your favorite?

Writing as Toni Sands, it’s one full-length novel plus novellas and short stories. Under my Jill Barry pseudonym, I have six published books. My favourite Toni Sands is Orchid Pink as I find that late Victorian era fascinating.

Have any of your books received negative reviews and how did you handle the situation?

Every author is vulnerable to a negative review now and then. The trick is to read the positive ones and count your blessings.

Do you believe in writer’s block and if so, how do you overcome it?

I have no personal experience of writer’s block. And I’m not being precious! I have always had more ideas than time to write them.

What is the one genre you would never write and why?

Hopefully I’m not too bad at writing from the male point of view but I don’t think I could make a good enough job of writing male love scenes. Though I’d never say never!

Have you ever written a book that you’ve regretted publishing and why?

My first ever novel, Suddenly You Know, was originally published print on demand via a scheme that seemed a good idea at the time. I’m pleased to say the revised version is to be published by Endeavour Press as an ebook but it’s a contemporary romance by my alter ego Jill Barry.

If a reader said they wanted to write a book, what advice would you give them?

Stop thinking about it. Start writing it. If it’s an erotic romance, study the Xcite website and read books by successful authors.

About you:

Tell us what a typical day in your life is like?

Quiet. My partner works at home so we swap tennis and show biz news en route to the kettle. I have a variable start time for my writing but normally will write for five or six hours. It could be more if I didn’t get distracted by social media and stuff.

What sort of things put you in a bad mood?

Stupidity. Cruelty. Inconsiderate drivers. Train and bus passengers who treat public transport like their own living rooms. Theatregoers who check their phones every 15 minutes. I bet you’re sorry you asked me now.

Do you have a bucket list and what’s one thing you still want to do that you haven’t done?

A modest bucket list involving visits to Scotland and York. I might achieve a trip to Australia before I finally check out.

What makes you laugh?

The kind of gentle yet clever humour written by John Finnemore, and anything involving Andy Hamilton, e.g. Outnumbered.

What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done?

Ages ago, when working as a Butlin redcoat, I had to join in a Goodnight Campers routine. Let’s just say, I started off on the wrong foot… *shudders*

Do you like to read and what are you reading at the moment?

I love reading and the current choice is Stolen Grace by Arianne Richmonde.

If you couldn’t write anymore, what would you do instead?

Read more. Catch up with dozens of DVDs. Visit more museums and art galleries. Walk more. Listen to radio plays and to CDs. See more of my friends and family. Do more baking.

Fun Stuff:

If you could go out with one famous person who would it be and why?

After thinking for ten hours, I’m going for movie star Clint Eastwood because he was my crush for about three decades and he’s a pilot and loves music and has had a fascinating life.

Do you have a habit that drives your partner/friends/family nuts and what is it?
Um! Just one?

In your opinion, what makes a person attractive?

Twinkly, kind eyes.

What is the strangest food you’ve ever eaten?

Dried reindeer meat. I’d prefer to forget it, thank you.

Would you rather have a classic 1969 convertible Mustang or have the use of a beach side condo any time you want?
I love the sea.

And finally:

Would you rather survive an apocalyptic event (yes, even a zombie apocalypse) or die instantly without knowing what happened to your family and friends?

I’m going for the survival option.

Knight and Trask: Secrets and Spies

Set in the 1990s, this is a swift-moving sexy story of two spies who dare to break the rules and risk disgrace, all for the sake of love.

Excerpt:

Special Agent Katie Knight’s boots ricocheted against rock face. Panting, she landed on grass, aware of the instructor checking his stopwatch.
‘OK, Knight. Ten seconds off last time. Cool,’ he said.
Slowly Katie sucked in her breath, watching Trask land like a panther. If he had a forename, only his mother knew it and his personal life remained an enigma to his colleagues in this hush-hush team. Katie didn’t do love at first sight but Trask’s aloofness disturbed her beyond belief, her body refusing to acknowledge the relationship taboo between operatives.
She removed her blue safety helmet. Allowed the breeze to whip her toffee- coloured hair across her cheeks. Trask checked his time and scowled.
‘You’re never satisfied,’ she called. She’d learnt that much on Day One.
He met her gaze. ‘Would I be in this game otherwise? Would you?’
Katie shrugged, body high on adrenaline, thigh muscles tingling. She couldn’t argue with the guy. She thrived on honing her ability to tackle whatever danger lurked in her bizarre part-commando, part-concubine world.
Chateau Rose, nestling in the lush Loire Valley, must have looked as magnificent in 1699 as it did three hundred years later. The stately building no longer housed French aristocrats playing games of power and passion. Today it played temporary home to an elite group of British agents for whom death meant just another adversary to annihilate. So far she’d tackled theory. Talked serious stuff about her fears and frustrations with her mentor. Pushed her body to its limits, the exercises always juicing her, heightening her appetites.

New Release Sneaky Peek - Sweet Spot by Lucy Felthouse

Blurb:

A Raw Talent book.

Virginia Miller is an up-and-coming tennis star. She’s gone from a ratty tennis court in a park in south London, England, to the world’s top training facility—Los Carlos Tennis Academy in California. In awe of the talent around her, Virginia is all the more determined to make the most of the opportunity and show that she’s worthy of her place there. Her mentor, Nadia Gorlando, has every faith in her.
But Virginia finds herself distracted—Nadia, as well as being a top-notch tennis player, is seriously sexy, and Virginia’s mind keeps wandering where it shouldn’t. Will her crush get in the way of her career, or can she find a way to push the other woman out of her mind before it’s too late?

Excerpt:

Nadia Gorlando and I had just gotten off the exercise bikes in the gym when one of the academy’s coaches, Peter Ross, headed over to us, all smiles.
“Hey, Nadia,” he said, his all-American grin widening and his blond hair flopping down over his forehead, “I need a huge favor.”
I flicked my gaze to Nadia. She raised one of her perfectly shaped eyebrows and waited for him to continue. He did.
“I totally lost track of time just now and I have an appointment with Travis Connolly. Would you mind wiping down my machine for me? Or maybe stick a note on it saying it’s out of order? I don’t want to leave it all sweaty for someone else. You’ll be doing me a real solid. I’ll owe you.”
My jaw almost hit the floor.
Now Nadia rolled her eyes, looked over at the offending machine, then back at Peter. “Sure, I understand,” she said, as cool as ice. “The world’s number one can’t wait. Go right ahead—I’ll fix it for you.”
He babbled a load of thanks, then jogged out of the gym.
I gaped at her. “You’re not going to do it, are you?”
Nadia chuckled. “Of course not. He may be coaching Travis Connolly and Rufus Lampani for the US Open, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to clean up his mess.” She pointed with her chin over to the machine Peter had just vacated. “Come on, V, I’ll show you how I’m going to deal with this.”
I followed her, grinning. Her tone told me that it was going to be something fun. Well, for us, anyway. Probably not for Peter.
Sure enough, when she returned from the room off the side of the gym, she had a pad of paper and a pen in her hands. Deliberately shielding the pad from my view, she wrote something down, then pulled off the top sheet. Folding it, she then propped it on the sweat-slicked seat so the writing was on view to anyone who happened past.
When I’d read and absorbed the words, I turned to Nadia, impressed. Her smile lit up her face, showing dimples in each cheek, and her brown eyes gleamed with amusement.
It was in that moment that I decided I had the serious hots for Nadia Gorlando.
The sign read,
PLEASE EXCUSE THE STATE OF THIS MACHINE. PETER ROSS, TENNIS COACH SUPREMO, “LOST TRACK OF TIME”.

Author Hot Seat Welcomes - Lucy Felthouse

The author hot seat specials are designed to help readers get to know both popular, and up and coming authors, a little better. The questions are broken into sections - About your writing, about you, fun stuff and finally. Some of the questions are easy, other may need a little more thought and some may cause our author friends to hesitate before answering—still, they all answer.

Today we have Lucy Felthouse in the hot seat, talking about her latest book, One Night in Paris, plus lots more.

Getting Started:

Tell us about your latest book. What was your inspiration for writing it, is it part of an ongoing series, the characters, the genre etc?

CityNights: One Night in Paris is part of a multi-author series by Tirgearr Publishing. Each author chooses a city and writes an erotic romance novella based around twenty four hours in that city. As soon as I found out about the series, I wanted to take part, and Paris was my first choice.

About your writing:

How many books have you written during your career so far and which is your favorite?

I’ve written almost forty solo titles—but if you take into account stories I’ve had in anthologies, too, then that number is over one hundred and climbing. My favourite so far is StatelyPleasures, as it was my first full length novel.

Have any of your books received negative reviews and how did you handle the situation?

Yes, I’ve received negative reviews. Luckily I’ve got thick skin. Plus, so far I haven’t had a book that’s only had negative reviews, so I keep telling myself I can’t please everyone! Now, I try to ignore the negative reviews and concentrate on the positives.

Do you believe in writer’s block and if so, how do you overcome it?

I do believe in it, but fortunately I don’t get it often. I’m normally so pushed for time that I can’t mess around. If I need to write to hit deadlines, then I write. If I’m really, really struggling, then I’ll go off and do something else, then come back to it later.

What is the one genre you would never write and why?

Science fiction. Purely because it’s not really my thing. I have nothing against it, I just don’t enjoy reading it, so I wouldn’t want to write it, either.

Have you ever written a book that you’ve regretted publishing and why?

No, I don’t think so. If I’m not happy with something I’ve written, then I don’t send it out.

If a reader said they wanted to write a book, what advice would you give them?

Read lots in your chosen genre, learn to edit yourself, and don’t give up!

About you:

Tell us what a typical day in your life is like?

Manic! As well as writing, I run my own business, http://www.writermarketing.co.uk, and I edit for a publishing company, so there’s never a quiet or dull moment. If I’m not writing, I’m marketing, blogging, editing, sending out blog tour materials, chatting with clients, helping them out, and so on!

What sort of things put you in a bad mood?

People that won’t help themselves, and noise.

Do you have a bucket list and what’s one thing you still want to do that you haven’t done?

I have a mental bucket list—I’ve never actually sat down and written a list. And there is looooooads on there I want to do. Mainly visiting places I haven’t been—I could go on forever.

What makes you laugh?

Lots of things, I have quite a silly sense of humour. My other half, my dog and my dad make me laugh the most, as do my fellow Brit Babes.

What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done?

I don’t really do embarrassing things, or get embarrassed easily.

Do you like to read and what are you reading at the moment?

I love to read, and I’m actually between books at the moment. I just finished Out in the Army by James Wharton, a non-fiction memoir as part of some research I’m doing into my next writing project.

If you couldn’t write anymore, what would you do instead?

Cry, probably. I love writing and get grumpy when I haven’t done any for a while.

Fun Stuff:

If you could go out with one famous person who would it be and why?

Just one, seriously?! I think that’s a bit mean ;) At the moment, it would have to be Tom Hiddleston. He’s my favourite celebrity crush at the moment.

Do you have a habit that drives your partner/friends/family nuts and what is it?

Probably lots of things, as they’ve never mentioned one particular thing!

In your opinion, what makes a person attractive?

Intelligence and sense of humour.

What is the strangest food you’ve ever eaten?

I’m incredibly fussy and non-adventurous when it comes to food, I’m afraid. So there’s nothing at all exotic that I can think of, sorry.

Would you rather have a classic 1969 convertible Mustang or have the use of a beach side condo any time you want?

The condo, I think. I wouldn’t install Internet and I’d go there to write and have some peace and quiet.

And finally:

Would you rather survive an apocalyptic event (yes, even a zombie apocalypse) or die instantly without knowing what happened to your family and friends?

I’d rather survive. Then I could find out what the hell happened, and probably write a book about it.

Excerpt:

Jacob huffed out a breath as he reached the kerb, shooting a dirty look at the motorist who’d caused him to leap for the relative safety of the pavement. Christ, he’d heard talk of Parisian drivers, but until he’d experienced the place for himself, he’d thought the claims were exaggerated. Apparently not.

Running a hand through his hair, he tried to regain some modicum of composure. It was not the best start to his day—all he’d done was catch the Metro to the Eiffel Tower so far, and he’d barely caught sight of the iconic monument before an insane motorist had almost run him down.

Checking his pockets to make sure nothing was amiss, he retrieved his pre-booked ticket for one of the hop-on, hop-off bus tours of the city while he was there. Horribly touristy, he knew, but given he’d never visited the French capital before, he felt it was excusable. Hell, he’d even booked a plane ticket with a nice twenty-four-hour layover so he could sneak in some sightseeing. It was going to be non-stop work when he got to Abu Dhabi, so he felt he was entitled to a little chill-out time before he got there.

He was the boss, anyway, so nobody could tell him what to do, where to go, or when. If he wanted to head for a brief jolly in Paris before a bunch of intense meetings with his Arabic clients, then he damn well would. What was the point in working his arse off constantly if he couldn’t reap the benefits? His fortieth birthday was approaching and the realisation had made him think. Almost forty and he hadn’t seen nearly enough of the world. Especially if you discounted hotels and conference rooms. Once, he’d flown to Rome, had a meeting in a hotel near the airport, then turned around and boarded a flight home. It had been worth it financially, but only months later, it hit Jacob what a colossally wasted opportunity it had been. Yes, the client had insisted on a face-to-face meeting, rather than a Skype chat, and yes, he’d needed to get back home to continue with yet more work, but it could have waited a day or two. Even a couple of days in the Italian capital would have been better than nothing.

What was the point in having plenty of money if one couldn’t enjoy it, after all?
With a decisive nod, Jacob checked his ticket for the location of the bus stop. He’d just headed for the Eiffel Tower in the first instance because he’d figured it would be the easiest thing in Paris to find. He’d been right in assuming that; the mighty iron structure pierced the sky, impressive and strangely beautiful. It was next on his list, after the bus tour, which he felt would help him get his bearings. He only had twenty four hours—there was no time to waste getting lost.

He quickly located the bus stop he’d been looking for, helped by the vehicle that had just arrived, emblazoned with the tour company logo. There was already a group waiting, and he hurried over to join the back of the queue. After a couple of minutes, it was his turn to have his ticket checked, then he was ushered onto the bus.

It seemed the majority of people who’d alighted in front of him had snagged seats on the bottom deck. It was far from full but somehow already felt crowded, so Jacob headed up the stairs, the child in him making a bee-line for the back seat.

He’d taken a couple of long strides when he saw someone already sitting there. A blonde, maybe a decade younger than him, and gorgeous. Their gazes met and they exchanged a polite smile before breaking eye contact.

Blurb:

Jacob is nearly forty, and has recently come to the sudden realisation that he’s not doing much with his life. Sure, he’s got his own successful business, but what’s the point in earning lots of money and not doing anything or going anywhere to spend it?

He’s in serious danger of being all work and no play, so he starts to rectify this by organising a twenty four hour layover in Paris en route to a meeting in Dubai. Whilst there, he goes on a bus tour of the city, and there meets Annabelle, a fellow Brit who’s studying in Paris. There’s clearly an attraction between the two of them, so when the gorgeous Annabelle makes an indecent proposal to help Jacob fill his time in Paris, who is he to refuse?

Excerpt:

“The trouble with this arrangement,” Rex commented as he walked across the room, “is that I’m enjoying it rather too much.” He watched her reaction.
Carmen stopped dead, standing on the patterned rug in the middle of the room. “What are you saying?”
Rex sat down in a winged armchair.  “For a month you do everything I want, every weekend, absolutely anything and everything.” He paused, allowing his message to sink in. “And in return for that you get my half of the property.”
“I told you I’d pay.”
Those eyes of hers, such defiance. How delicious it was to see her fire.
“That won’t be necessary. You will have earned every tiny part of the property by the time I hand it over. Don’t worry about the money.”
She knotted her fingers together. “You’re trying to embarrass me. That wasn’t part of the bargain.”
“I don’t agree. Mostly because I don’t seem to have to try very hard before you get embarrassed. I think you’re embarrassment trigger and your arousal trigger are very close together.” He lifted his shoulders in a shrug. “I can’t help that, and neither can you.”
She pressed her lips together. She was clearly annoyed, and yet he could also see that she was acutely aroused. The hands-on treatment he’d given her out in the grounds had her poised for action. She was taut and watchful, barely waiting to be instructed.
Rex took a deep breath and savored the heady atmosphere of sexual anticipation.
When she noticed, she hissed as if in objection.
Rex lifted an eyebrow. She lowered her eyelids, but watched him from beneath her lashes. Rex laughed. Had Carmen Shelby always had these withheld submissive desires? It hadn’t been obvious before, of that he was certain. And the constant battle she was having with her needs—was that part of the package? Or was this dilemma of hers because she’d revealed her trigger to him, perhaps inadvertently? Whatever the reason, neither of them could put it back in the box now. No way. Now that he knew her little kinks and foibles he intended to play them out to their full extent.
“So what is the problem?” she demanded after he left her standing there in silence while he admired her.
“A month might not be enough.”
She glared at him.
“It’s day two and I’m loving every moment,” he continued. “Seems such a shame to put an end date on it.”
“You’re winding me up.”
“I’m being honest.” He was. This was too good.
“In which case you lied to me. If you don’t intend to stand up to your end of the deal, I’m walking out of here right now, and if I have to do that I promise you I will only deal with you through a solicitor!”
Angry Carmen was hellishly hot.
“Is this the ballsy businesswoman speaking now, or are you saying you can’t handle more than a month of this?”
Her eyes blazed.
“Seriously, aren’t you enjoying our time together?”
“You know I am, in some weird fucked-up way.” She folded her arms across her chest. “But I want a limit on it, for the sake of my sanity.”
Sanity? What did that really mean? He’d find out, all in good time. He knew he’d pushed her on the terms. “Fair enough. I suppose I’ll have to stick to my word.”
“It’s only sex,” she blurted, as if it was an afterthought.
“It is…and I must say I’m liking these kinky sex games of yours.”
“Mine?”
“Yes. Yours. Okay, let’s begin.”
She rolled her eyes.
“I’d like you to prove to me how much you want the house and how hard you’d work to get it.”
“Now you really are trying to humiliate me.”
“Not at all. You said it made it easier for you when I took charge. Although I do think there’s a part of you that likes that…the humiliation.”
Oh, how her cheeks flamed.
Rex smiled. “Strip for me.”
