New Release - Fierce Guardian by Khloe Wren

Fierce Guardian, Book 4 in Khloe Wrens Fire and Snow Series released this week. This is a great Paranormal Series and I'm sure Fierce Guardian will be an exciting addition.

Blurb:
He's found his true mate at last—but she's caught in a deadly trap.

Australian Xander Moore is one of a secret cadre of humans who can shift into the form of a snow leopard. His predator side is gorgeous and deadly. He's also lonely. Somewhere out there is his true mate … if he can find her before the Triggers destroy them all.
To the team he leads in search of the brutal Triggers, Xander is known for his calm strength in the midst of danger. But when he glimpses the mate he’s dreamt of for years, he's torn between the mission and his instinctive drive to protect and claim. Xander loses focus, leading to dire consequences.
British visitor Rachel Bell is caught in a trap. Her boyfriend's offer of a job to extend her visa has turned into forced servitude in his bar. The night he beats her and locks her in their apartment, she's desperate enough to get help the only way she can—by starting a fire.
When her abuser attacks her brave rescuers, Rachel discovers she herself may be a deadly weapon. Is she brave enough to unleash her shocking new abilities and save them all?

Excerpt:

For at least half an hour after Rocco stopped pounding on the door, Rachel stayed huddled in the far corner of the bedroom. Her heart was still racing, but had settled somewhat since she first wedged that chair under the door handle. Amazing that something so simple had kept her safe. Why hadn’t she thought of doing it before? A shudder ran through her. Because no matter how long she kept him out, at some point she had to leave the room and face him. With the way his fits of rage had been increasing lately, she wasn’t looking forward to the inevitable confrontation.
How could she get free? Kit had said she’d send her team in, but as far as Rachel knew, Kit was the only woman and wouldn’t be able to make it if she was out fighting a fire. Rachel wasn’t ready to trust any male, even one that Kit vouched for. Deep down she knew she could trust Kit, especially after their conversation and her tip about the chair. It was clear the woman wanted to help her, she was just unable to right now.
Rachel stilled as a crazy idea came to her.
“That might just work.”
Not giving herself time to think about it further, she rose from her hiding spot and crept over to the door. She was certain Rocco had gone to open up the bar but she didn’t want to risk racing out and landing in his lap. As quietly as possible, she removed the chair and opened the door to peek out. Her shoulders dropped in relief when she discovered no sign of Rocco. She repeated the process with the apartment’s front door before she went flying down the back stairs as fast as she could without slipping.
When she reached HoHaven she paused a moment to listen for any sign that someone was down there. When all she heard was silence she slipped into the store room, grabbed the closest bottle of alcohol, then bolted down to Rocco’s office. Using the spare key she’d nabbed from upstairs, she unlocked the door and shut herself in. It was the work of a moment to find a lighter and a pack of cigarettes. The man kept them all over the place.
Quickly she scrunched up paper and left it around his ashtray before making a trail over to the filing cabinet, which she opened an inch or so, hoping it would be enough for the flames to take hold. Opening the bottle, she poured the clear liquid over the crap in the cabinet then in a trail over to the desk. Leaving the bottle on its side near the ashtray, she prayed it would look like an accident of a lit cigarette and a tipped over bottle of vodka when the fire was put out.
Nerves had her hands trembling and she took a deep breath to steady herself enough to light a cigarette. Once she got the thing lit, she went over to open the door before heading back to the desk. Then she tossed it in the ashtray and she jumped back. She didn’t pour the vodka into the ashtray, hoping it would give her a minute to get out of the room. As she sprinted out of the room she heard the whoosh and felt a blast of heat.
Perfect.

Edible Delights Highlight - Healing Carina by Khloe Wren

Book 3 of The Dragons of Feury

About the Author:

Khloe Wren started writing her first novel in high school, until it mysteriously disappeared from the family computer (her older brother was the lead suspect but nothing was ever proved). She didn't put pen to paper again after that for a number of years but she did keep reading. Khloe has always loved all things paranormal: sexy vampires and sultry shifters have always been her favorites. So when she picked up writing again, it seemed only natural that she write paranormal romance.
Khloe lives in country South Australia with her incredibly patient husband and two daughters. When she's not sitting at her laptop writing, she's spending time with family or friends, kicking butt at karate or feeding her addictions of reading, eating chocolate and drinking Coke.

About the Book:

Recovering from a vicious attack Carina gets swept through a portal. Can she accept the love of the three dragon shifters who claim her as theirs?

When Carina goes camping with her friends she's hoping her friends can help her heal from the horrific attack she suffered ten months ago. The day after she confesses all to her friends around a campfire, all five of them are blown through a portal to The Land of Feury.

Dragon shifters call The Land of Feury home. Brothers, Denver, Phelan and Hart, the clan's farmers, are excited when they discover Carina is their Desired; their destined mate. But can they help her heal from her from her past hurts? Will Carina ever be able to accept the attention of three men after being attacked?

Excerpt:

Hart took a deep breath to steel himself before pushing through the door to the clinic. Carina now sat, fully dressed, with Skye on the edge of the bed. He walked forward with very measured steps, trying his hardest to not look threatening. He saw her tense up but she didn't try to hide behind Skye this time, which he took as a positive sign. He felt his brothers enter the room and stand on either side of him.
"Hello, Carina. My name is Hart, and these are my brothers, Denver and Phelan."
As she looked each of them over from head to foot, he saw the briefest expression of arousal cross her face before she clamped it down with a frown and turned to cling to Skye. His poor baby was feeling the connection between them but anything sex related was going to scare her for a while, he'd guess.
"We're Dragon Warriors, but mainly we're farmers. We tend to all the cattle and the crops that provide the food for everyone here. Perhaps you'd like a tour of our farm? Skye can come too. That way you can get outside and get some fresh air, you've been stuck in this room for days."
She slowly lifted her head, looked at him, then looked at Skye.
"Whatever you want to do is fine, Carina. We've got all the time in the world."
Well, they might. He and his brothers didn't. To have their Desired nearby but not claimed would very quickly drive all three of them completely insane. Dragons used to be killed due to the insanity caused from having their Desired reject their bond, before the plague took all the females from them.
Before Carina could say anything else her stomach growled loudly.
"I'm so sorry! That was very loud." Her face reddened with the sweetest rose color as she flushed with embarrassment.
"Don't be sorry baby, it's my fault. I didn't think. You haven't eaten in days while you've been sleeping. Let's go to the Dining Hall and get you something to eat. We can tour the farm later."
He watched as she gripped Skye tighter. "I'll come with you. It's okay, Carina."
He and his brothers, and Skye's men, stood back from the doorway to allow Skye to lead Carina out, before they all followed them to the Dining Hall.
This is looking impossible brother.
Phelan was always the skeptical one of them.
Don't fear yet, brother. I have an idea that should help. We just need to get her to go on the farm tour.

He could feel his brothers give him a strange look but he didn't care, he wasn't giving details away just yet.

Truth or Dare Tuesday with Khloe Wren

Carrying on the theme from last week we have another Aussie author spilling her guts today.

Khloe Wren lives in the Murraylands, South Australia with her hubby and two kids. Khloe writes paranormal romance with a healthy dose of suspense - she loves twists and turns in a story. She's currently in the process of getting her first book 'Her Guardian Angel: Fire & Snow - Book 1' published. You can visit Khloe on facebook at www.facebook.com/authorkhloewren. Khloe chose truth over dare because she's a wimp! lol (Yes, Khloe agreed wimp was the right word to use.)

So, let's see what the truth is according to Khloe.

What do you think your best and worse physical attributes are?
Worst feature would be a tight call between my height (I'm only 158cm) and my nose. I think my nose would win. It's too big and rather masculine looking. Hmmm, best feature ... most men seem fairly impressed with my 12F boobs, so I guess I'll stick with that as a best feature! lol

Have you ever been unfaithful to a boyfriend/girl friend?
I've never been unfaithful ... I did however date two guys at the same time. They both had the same first name, which came in handy! They knew about each other and would vie for my 'attentions' if they knew I'd been out with the other the previous night. Kept me on my toes that's for sure!

If you could go out on a date with anyone in the world who would it be?
If I didn't have my wonderful husband ... Vin Diesel hands down. That man is amazing! He's beautiful, sexy and has a brain! If you could wear out a DVD's my copy of 'XXX' and 'The Fast and The Furious' wouldn't work. Just in case it's not obvious I'm obsessed, my first book's hero is named Dominic, there's also a Xander in there too!

When you are trying to impress people what personality trait do you hide?
It has been said that I could talk buried in concrete with a mouth full of marbles ... so generally, if I'm trying to make a good impression I try really hard not to talk too much. It's not often I can actually pull it off though.

Where is the strangest place you’ve ever had sex?
Oh dear, the things you do when young! I once let my boyfriend talk me into skinny dipping in the murky waters of the Murray River. It resulted in some very awkward sex in the water ;) Can't say I recommend it, and I was scared stiff of being caught ... until a fish nibbled my calf, then another fear took over! lol

Wow, thanks Khloe you have definitely impressed me with your answers. Your early years would clearly make a great erotic romance - two men competing for your affection, sex in the Murray River and who knows what else you could throw in. What does everyone else think, would Khloe's life make a good romance?

Thanks for being here :)
